Amelia “Miles” Meason is a sculptor currently settled in the Midwest. Meason's practice is informed by observations of industrial structures and natural accumulations caused by extended use along the peripheries of our highways. Her work investigates systems of power, both structural and grassroots, and how they can be used to divide or unify groups of people. Employing materials such as wood, metal and concrete, she creates structures struggling against futility and collapse, whose function adheres to an invented logic.
